High Density Wi-Fi



HD Wi-Fi is not just a single solution or system that capable of hundred or thousand of devices connecting to the network at the same place and same time wirelessly. Indeed, it is a analysis of every parts and detail of the connectivity to make sure Wi-Fi works perfectly in high density user environment such as classroom, hall, sport venue and public places, etc.

There are solution providers in the market show how their equipment fit and blah but usually only selling their most profitable one with sounds great reason. ITSHK, on the other hand, don't have any approached solution. We will check physical environment and hear what customer really need firstly, and propose system with understandable and scientific factors.


Radio Capacity

Radio capacity is a major study and calculation of the HD Wi-Fi system which measure the bandwidth and more important, bandwidth provided by the radio environment and equipment. The study can be complicated with spectrum analyzer or RF analysis (sometime we need this for critical case), or using IOS and Android apps to scan Wi-Fi frequencies and solve the case quickly.

Channel Management - Wi-Fi channels are limited by laws and standards, hence using channels effectively is crucial. As no. of channel is limited,  fully utilize all channels to fulfill the high density usage is the only option for very high density environment, including using advanced new technology gaining more bandwidth from narrow channel. Major factors in channel management are No.-of-Client and No.-of-AP, below charts explain the relations with bandwidth.

Due to Wi-Fi using CSMA (carrier sense media access) method, increasing number of devices in the same area will eventually turning down the performance in a increasing rate after reaching the maximum contained radio capacity because of noise from each other and CPU time loss for error correction.


Network Capacity

From client to access point, and access point to router and Internet, each part of the network can be bottle neck of the system, especially the Internet connection which application requires. Performance of devices must take into account by measuring the network session and throughput that provided by different equipments with different standards.

There are lots of other factors that impacting both the performance and degree of user friendly of the system, such as:

- system monitoring and control
- logging and error correction
- wireless functionalities like roaming, encryption
- security like AAA (authority, authentication and accounting), portal
